I'm working on something called the South Beached-Whale Diet.

You just eat whatever you want, whenever you want, as much as you want, and quit exercising until you resemble a beached whale. I'm doing great on it; I've put on a few extra pounds and I've never been happier.

My new favorite color? Butter.

Congratulations for tackling this age old difficulty. I am most curious to find how you are doing with it in a month or two. For what I have observed, this is to remain a fairly good way to correct an underlying potential for diabetes for some people. There are choices, and I suppose that the occasional Beck's or Butterfinger will be okay, but I simply cannot imagine that you ever enjoyed those two at the same time. Food habits are different for lots of people. Kudos! I am glad that I don't have to send that warm fuzzy in order to improve your doctor's looks...you must have made his day. But just in case, warm fuzzy, warm fuzzy, warm fuzzy. I don't think that would really have done much for that butcher paper, anyway.

You were certainly my inspiration to get started on this diet. I'm thrilled that it has been so successful for you!

I began following the South Beach plan right after Thanksgiving, and to date have lost 25 lbs. My blood sugar is under control, but I believe that to be more from the new Byetta injections I'm doing twice daily. The endochronologist was very happy to learn that I had begun South Beach, however, and who knows, maybe I'll be able to back off of the injections some day.

It was hard for me at first, because I've never been a big meat eater...and I love bread! But, roasted chicken has become a staple in my diet and I only occasionally allow a roll or cornbread muffin to find a spot on my plate!

I wish you continued good luck! Thank you for sharing your story!

why not do Jenny Craig - you could do a cute commercial in a speedo and get a movie deal. Sometimes you have to look at the larger picture ( ha ha)

I must say you have a verbal way of attacking this problem in one of the most enchanting ways I have ever read. Hopefully your good fortune will continue and I don't become so enchanted as to have to deal with it. If you succeed, I will send you a warm fuzzy throw to cover that awful butcher paper for your next year visit to the doctor. That might at least get a smile from him.!
